STEM Discovery Week 2019 is a joint international initiative that invites projects, organisations and schools across Europe and around the world, to celebrate careers and studies in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The tagline for this year’s campaign is “best practices in using innovative STEM resources”. The primary focus of this year's campaign, is to showcase how teaching materials and other learning resources are used in educational activities.

Interested to become a partner?

By committing to the STEM Discovery Week 2019, the partners agree to:

  • Organise and share information about activities and actions in STEM education as part of the STEM Discovery Week campaign.
  • Encourage third parties to support and join the initiative by organising STEM activities or actions of their own and share information about them as part of the STEM Discovery Week campaign.
  • Publish on their web page information in support of the STEM Discovery Week campaign, hence facilitating an active exchange of information among projects, organisations and schools.

Include it on the map! Participants organising STEM activities and actions from 1 February to 30 April 2019 may also enter the STEM Discovery Week competitions. Visit the competitions' section on the Scientix online portal for more information here.

Scientix logoSYSTEMIC project logo Scientix proposes two competitions this year: one competition invites participants to organise activities using Scientix resources. The other competition, co-organised with SYSTEMIC, encourages teachers to showcase best practices in STEM education. Winners will be invited to a workshop in Brussels in June! Terms and conditions
Amgen Teach logo An online competition for Amgen Teach Expert Teachers is held and they asked to submit innovative teaching resources. Best practices are published on the project's website. Coming soon
BLOOM project logo Teachers who join the Boosting Bioeconomy Knowledge in Schools online course are invited to share their learning scenario on how to integrate bioeconomy in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Primary education class. Best three submissions will be awarded with Scientix goodies for their entire classes! Terms and conditions
Two competions available! "Leonardo 4 Children" initiative
Next-Lab logo Teachers create Inquiry Learning Spaces based on one of the online laboratories in the so-called Go-Lab ecosystem. Next-Lab awards the best labs based on the users’ feedback. More information
STEM Alliance logo STEM Alliance invites primary and secondary school teachers as well as career counsellors to join the STEM Alliance Competition. 10 winners will be invited to take part in a Science Projects Workshop in Brussels in June 2019. There are two categories you can participate in:
